A newer favourite where a cluster of natural pools meets the tide line of a peaceful fjord. At high tide the sea mingles gently with the warm water, a wilder, more private feel than the big lagoons.

What to expect

Several pools of varying temperature along the shore, room to roam, and big, quiet fjord views. A sea dip for the brave sits right alongside.

Getting there

About an hour from Reykjavík around Hvalfjörður, a scenic drive in its own right.

Best time to visit

Year round; the shoulder seasons are especially peaceful.
